Forse eravamo già agli albori dell'era digitale,in Giappone però, ma non certo da noi. Negli anni 70 da noi i formati 8 e Super8 andavano per la maggiore. Permettevano un certosino lavoro di artigianato in casa: il montaggio.Per chi possedeva un proiettore Super8 con il sonoro allora c'era a Maia Bassa chi ti incollava una pista sonora sul film girato e montato.E potevi passare alla fase di sonorizzazione. I filmaker meranesi Alberto Lugli, Rolf Mandolesi, sulla scia di altri professionisti, ci hanno lasciato esempi eccelsi di come il Super8 potesse aiutare ad esprimersi in modo sintetico ed efficace.E sulle loro orme alcuni si sono cimentati saltuariamente(il sottoscritto) ed altri (Guenther Haller) con continuità e successo fino agli anni 90. Oggi nel pieno dell'era digitale, vedere le immagini rubate ai Super8 , scorrere da un DVD, nello loro scarsa qualità visiva ma alta qualità rievocativa, è un piccolo regalo che vogliamo farvi con la certezza che saprete apprezzarlo (en)

Vielleicht waren wir damals schon im digitalen Zeitalter, in Japan wahrscheinlich, aber sicherlich nicht bei uns. In den 70er Jahren filmten wir mit 8 und Super 8 Filmen. Oft mühsame Heimarbeit: Das Zusammenschneiden. Im Untermais war es möglich, Filme zu schneiden und zu montieren. Sogar den Soundtrack einzubauen. Die Meraner Filmemacher Alberto Lugli und Rolf Mandolesi haben unter anderem gezeigt, inwieweit das Medium der Super 8 sich auszudrücken vermochte. Sie haben andere inspiriert, sich im Film zu versuchen: Der Autor dieses Textes und Günther Haller z.B. haben sich bis Ende der 90er mit Erfolg der Super 8 bedient. Heute, inmitten des digitalen Zeitalters, sind die Bilder einer Super 8, auf DVD gebrannt, mit ihrer ungenügenden Sicht- aber hohen Ausdrucksqualität, ein Geschenk, von dem wir wissen, dass es von euch geschätzt wird.

Today, at the peak of the digital era, watching the stolen images of a super 8 through the means of a DVD, with its poor visibility and yet its enormous quality of expression, is a gift which we are sure you truly appreciate.
